In 1869, Buffett’s family was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, and his grandfather, Sidney Buffett, left farming on Long Island New York to move west. He (Warren’s great grandfather) started working as a stagecoach driver. He later opened a grocery store. Evaluating every penny, Sydney was able to make a decent profit and soon expanded the business to meet the needs of Omaha citizens. In 1915, his son Ernest (Warren’s grandfather) took over the store and moved its location to the suburbs.

Over time, Ernest made huge profits and reinvested in the business. However, Ernest’s son Harvard Buffett (Warren’s father) was not interested in the grocery business. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, Harvard began his career at an insurance company. This was the time when Warren Edward Buffett was born.

Shortly after Warren Buffet received his master’s degree in economics from Columbia University. Graham Newman extended an invitation to his former student to join his company called Graham-Newman Corporation. During his two-year tenure there, Warren Buffett became completely immersed in his advisory investment methods.

In 1956, Graham, Warren’s mentor, disbanded. Later, Graham retired from the company. When Buffett returned to his hometown of Omaha. Equipped with high knowledge of investing, he started a limited investment partnership.

Later, its partnership grew and started with seven limited partners who together contributed $ 105,000. The limited partners received 6% annually on their investment and 75% of the profits on this bogie; The remaining 25% went to Warren Buffett, who as a general partner pulled the reins basically free to invest in partnership funds. Over time, its percentage increased from 25 to 29.5%.

As Buffett’s reputation grew, more and more people began to demand he manage their finances. In 1962, he began raising shares in a sickly textile company called Berkshire Hathaway. The same year Buffett moved the partnership office from his home to Quiet Plaza, where his office is today.

Trained by a scandal involving one of its clients, American Express saw its shares drop from $65 to $35 almost overnight. At the time, he had received this lesson from guru Graham: if the stocks of strong companies are selling below their calculated value, act wisely. He made a bold move to invest 40% of the partnership’s total assets into American express. Within two years, his shares tripled. They made $20 million in profit.

By 1965, the value of their assets was $26 million. After four years, explaining that he found the market’s highly speculative worthwhile values increasingly scarce. Then, he decided to close the investment partnership.

When the partnership broke up, investors got their proportional interest. Some members recommended Buffett and others asked for money to run Bill Rouen. Bill agreed to manage their money and thus the Sequoia Fund was born. Others, including Warren Buffett, invested their revenues in Hathaway. By then Buffett’s share had risen to $ 25 million, which allowed him to control Hathaway. In 1970, he became chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Warren’s father, Howard Homan Buffett, was an American businessman, investor, and politician. Warren’s mother’s name is Leila Stahl Buffett. Warren has two sisters Doris Buffett  (elder) and Roberta Buffett Elliott (younger). Warren is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Buffett.

Warren Buffett got married to Susan Thompson Buffett in 1952 at Dundee Presbyterian Church. They have three children Susan Alice Buffett (Susie), Howard Graham Buffett, and Peter Andrew Buffett. This couple started living separated In 1977 but did not divorce, and in 2004 Susan died. In 2006, Warren remarried his longtime companion Astrid Menks.
